Abstract: In this paper the simulation of a basic packet routing problem using the programming language C++ and the simulation library CNCL is considered. First the features special to the simulation library CNCL will be explained shortly. The aim is to via simulation study different algorithms to route packets in a system consisting of two nodes connected by two links. At first all queues are assumed to be infinite and the objective is to minimize the mean packet delay. Later also finite queues are examined.
